Mary Estelle "Granny" Anderson, age 85 and a longtime resident of Saucier, died on Tuesday, December 25, 2007 in Gulfport.

Mrs. Anderson was a member of Faithview Baptist Church in Saucier. "Granny" was a loving and caring Christian lady who loved her Lord. She will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Mrs. Anderson is preceded in death by her parents, Will Bates and Minnie Allen Watts; her husband, William B. Anderson; a brother, David Bates and a sister, Idell Shavers.

She is survived by her two daughters, Louise (Charles) Shavers of Saucier and Minnie Grady of Hattiesburg; three sons, James Anderson of Saucier, Bill (Kathy) Anderson of Mendenhall and Butch (Karen) Anderson of Saucier, two brothers, William Bates of Carthage and Jack (Pat) Bates of Wiggins; one sister, Patsy (Dan) Davis of Perkinston, 18 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 28, 2007 from 6-8pm at THE RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11213 Highway 49 North in Gulfport.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2007 at 10:00am in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Saucier Cemetery.
