Some of Larry's favorite pastimes were fishing and watching the San Francisco Giants (he was a lifelong fan). His favorite local places to fish in the Sierra's were Caples Lake and Silver Lake at his "favorite spots". He also traveled with his best friend and brother-in-law, Dan, to fish in Alaska and came back each time looking forward to and planning their next adventure.
Larry was a wonderful husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He was kind and always happy to offer a helping hand. Larry was a very hard worker and taught his daughters the power and pride of a strong work ethic. He also was an amazing storyteller. When Larry smiled and laughed, he would do so with his whole heart. Even after a hard day's work at Owens-Illinois (where he was employed for 38 years), he always made time for his daughters with their homework, sports, life lessons and fishing trips.
Larry peacefully passed away on February 2, 2022, from a longtime illness. He was a strong fighter, both in body and spirit.
Larry is survived by his beloved wife, Tammy Stowers, his daughters, Katherine Stowers (Crystal Neuhaus), Rebecca Marsh (and her husband, Vince), Angela Stowers, his sister Lori Eliskovich (and her husband, Dan), his brother Mark Stowers (and his wife, Dee) and many nieces and nephews.
Larry is preceded in death by his wonderful parents, Lester and Mildred Stowers, his brother, Neal Stowers, and his infant son, Matthew Stowers.
Larry was loved by many, and he will be greatly missed.
Per his wishes, services will be private. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice of Amador and Calaveras Counties at 1500 S Hwy 49 Ste 205, Jackson, California 95642.
