Born in Roscoe, Jan. fifth, 1866, Mrs. Piper was the daughter of George W. and Mary Hodge Schofield. She was a member of the Wurtsboro Presbyterian Church and was active in church work in her youth.
She is survived by a son, Wesley S., of Wurtsboro and a grandson.
Funeral services will be held in Wurtsboro, Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Van Inwegen Funeral Home. The Rev. Walton Herbert will officiate.
Friends may call at the funeral home tomorrow evening.

Mrs. Fannie Scofield Piper, 89, of Wurtsboro, passed away at Horton Memorial Hospital, Middletown, early Monday morning. She had been in ill health for a number of years.
Mrs. Piper was the widow of Dr. Charles W. Piper and a resident of Wurtsboro for over 65 years. She was born in Roscoe on January 5, 1886, the daughter of George W. and Mary Hodge Scofield.
She is survived by one son, Wesley Scofield Piper, of Wurtsboro; one grandson, Gordon W. Piper, of Wurtsboro; two half-sisters, Miss Ella Wood, of Middletown, and Miss Nina Wood of Hurleyville; and by two half-brothers, Howard Wood of Hurleyville, and Dwight Wood, of East Branch, N.Y.
As a member of the Wurtsboro Methodist Church, she was very active in church work in her youth.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 Wednesday afternoon at Van Inwegen's Funeral Home, Wurtsboro, with the Rev. Walton Herbert officiating. Interment was in Sylvan Cemetery, Wurtsboro.
