Saint John Daily Sun, Sat 03 Jan 1891: "St. John has but few long established houses and prominent among the number is the drug establishment of T.B. Barker & Sons, 35 and 37 King Street. The senior member of the firm T.B. BARKER was born in Sheffield (Sunbury Co.)in 1820 and came to St. John in 1853, entered the counting room of S.L. Tilley, now Sir Leonard TILLEY, then proprietor of a drug store on the present site and in 1869 assumed charge of the business in his own name, Sir Leonard having turned his attention solely to political affairs.
