The senior member of the firm T.B. BARKER was born in Sheffield (Sunbury Co.)in 1820 and came to St. John in 1853, entered the counting room of S.L. Tilley, now Sir Leonard TILLEY, then proprietor of a drug store on the present site and in 1869 assumed charge of the business in his own name, Sir Leonard having turned his attention solely to political affairs.
