Hubert Skinner Bell was born on May 16, 1894 in Tennessee, the son of Claude Jones Bell (1855–1945) and Alice (O'Daniel) Bell (1860–1919).
He was married on June 15, 1915 to Hattie Sue Jarratt (20 Mar 1895-26 Feb 1995), the daughter of David Johnson Jarratt and Jennie Anna (Hollowell) Jarratt.
A clerk at the Division of Employment Security for the State of Tennessee and living at 302 Neely Bend Road in Madison, Davidson County, Hubert was 69 years old and married when he had and intestinal obstruction and died of peritonitis on July 19, 1963 at Madison Sanitarium & Hospital, where he had been for two weeks.
Survivors included his widow Sue in Madison, sons David J Bell at Atlanta, Georgia and Billy C Bell in Miami, Florida, four grandchildren and sister Mrs Sam R Owen in Nashville.
Funeral Services were held on July 22nd at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, and burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery, Nashville.
