Willie Maye Grant Gattis, age 83, a homemaker and resident of Winchester, died Monday, April 29 at Harton Regional Medical Center. She was the daughter of Robert and Mattie Smith Grant. She was a native Franklin Countian and a member of Winchester Church of Christ. Mrs. Gattis was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Gattis. Survivors include a daughter, Gwyn Smith of Cowan; two sisters, Jessie Clark of Winchester and Dorothy LaRue of Houston, Texas; six grandchildren, Tracy Smith of Plano, Texas, Todd Smith of Silverdale, Washington, Tim Smith of Anguaga, California, Torrie Tucker, William "Sonny" Hamp Gattis, and Tony Smith, all of Winchester, and nine great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, May 4, at 2 p.m. from Winchester Church of Christ with Bro. Roger Massey officiating. Watson-Gamble Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
