Joseph Pellak, Sr., 80, of Pleasant View Nursing Home, Mount Airy died on Saturday, April 5, 2OO3 at Frederick Memorial Hospital in Frederick.
Born January 5, 1923, in Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late John and Ella Pellak. He was the husband of the late Mable Jean Pellak.
Mr. Pellak was a veteran of W.W.II and had served in the U.S. Army from February 1943 to November 1945. He had served in the battles in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe.
He had received the Good Conduct medal, the Meritorious Unit Award and the Five Bronze Star Victory Medal.
He had owned and operated a limousine company before retirement. Mr. Pellak liked to play bingo and cards. He was a Phillies baseball fan and an Eagles football fan.
Mr. Pellak is survived by five children, Joseph Pellak, Jr. and wife Christine of Mount Airy, Linda Jean Jackson and husband Gary of Gaithersburg, Robert Lee

Funeral services were held at the Muriel H. Barber Funeral Home in Laytonsville on Wednesday, April 9, 2003. Interment is in Park1awn Cemetery, Rockville.
