Jean Benavides went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on the afternoon of February 20, 2022 at the age of 80 years old. She passed peacefully in her sleep with her loving husband, Rudy Benavides Sr. right by her side. Jean was born in Navasota, TX on July 18, 1941 into a family of 15 children to Diego and Petra Bosquez. She lived most of her amazing and giving life in Bryan, TX. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in 1961 and went on to achieve her LVN degree from St. Joseph Hospital Associates of Arts program in 1963. Jean married the love of her life, Rudy Benavides on September 26, 1963 and they were married for 58 years. Jean was employed by the Bryan Independent School District as a nurse and retired from there after 26 years. After retiring, she continued to volunteer as a nurse at many local organizations and hospitals. She received several awards and recognitions for the countless hours she gave serving her community. Jean also gave a significant part of her life serving and loving her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were her pride and joy whom she loved deeply. Jean's memory truly is and will continue to be of the selfless and loving woman that she was. Her legacy will not easily be forgotten. Jean is survived by her husband, Rudy Benavides Sr., her three children Rudy Benavides Jr., Rachel Johnson, and Richard Benavides, her sixteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, sisters Vickie Lara, Helen Medina, Orvilia Castro, Esther Trejo, brothers Juan Bosquez, and Ralph Bosquez. She is preceded in death by her brothers Lupe, Frank, Luther, Roy, and Diego Bosquez, and sisters, Josie Escobedo, Argelia Escobedo and Estella Garcia.

A visitation for JEAN will be held Thursday, March 3, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Chapel, 1515 South College Avenue, Bryan, Texas 77801. A funeral service will occur Friday, March 4, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Fellowship Freewill Baptist, 1228 W. Villa Maria Rd, Bryan, Texas 77801. A burial will occur at Bryan City Cemetery, 1111 N Texas Ave, Bryan, Texas 77803.
