"BOGARD -- Trenouth Auer, 61, Bogard, died Wednesday at the home. He was a lifelong Bogard area resident. Mr. Auer was a construction worker and a farmer. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the Carrollton (Mo.) Post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Bette Auer of the home; a son, Carl David Auer of Bogard; two daughters, Mrs. Elaine S. Higgins of Davemport, Iowa, and Miss Carol D. Auer of St Louis; a brother, Bert Auer of Kansas City; five sisters, Mrs. Delores Lewis, Mrs. Eloise Shirk, Mrs. Nell Johnson, and Mrs. Carol Messenbrink of Kansas City and Mrs. Frances Eschenbach of Tina; and two grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. at the Gibson-Rice Chapel, Bogard; burial in the Van Horn Cemetery, near Bogard." The Kansas City Times, March 7, 1986
