Musician. She was an Australian country musician who at the age of sixteen became the first female solo act to be recorded in Australia. She also was the first Queensland-born person to be featured on a disc. She became known as Australia's Yodeling Sweetheart and often toured Australia and New Zealand as she entertained troops during World War II. Her likeness is commemorated in a bronze bust in Tamworth's Bicentennial Park along side other Australia country music pioneers.
