According to my dad, uncle, and grandfather's bible, Calvin Green Tucker was the son of General Carol Tucker. I have researched and discovered General Carol is listed as Carl in the 1870 census at Four Mile, Dunklin County, Missouri. He is 34 years old and living with his wife, Melvina 19, and his other children from a previous marriage: Sarah 11, Calvin 8, and Adeline 4.
In the 1880 census he is listed as General C. Tucker 44 and living at Union, Dunklin County, Missouri, with his wife, Melvina 29, and children Sarah A., Calvin G., Manervia A., Cynthia J., Artimusa. Almeda Anderson 15 also lives with them.
On Calvin Green Tucker's death certificate he is listed as "not married". According to my dad and my uncle, Calvin Green Tucker was never married. They called him Uncle Can. I do not know why they called him that...just that they did. In 1920 Calvin Green Tucker 58 is living in Salem, Dunklin County, Missouri, and his marital status is "single" and his relation to head of household is "uncle".
Also on Calvin Green Tucker's death certificate listed as his last residence is the home of S.C. Scott in rural Campbell, Missouri. S.C. Scott is also the informant on the death certificate. S.C. is Samuel Conard Scott. He is the husband of Melvinea Ladyman Scott (the niece to Calvin Green Tucker). Melvinea Ladyman Scott is the daughter of Lovie Adeline Tucker Ladyman (Calvin's sister).
There was another (older) Calvin Green Tucker who I believe to be the older brother of General C. Tucker. According to my grandfather's bible Green Tucker died on Jan. 28, 1902. I believe this is the other Calvin Green Tucker and I believe he is also buried in the Tucker Cemetery.
