Audrey's pride and joy was spending time with her family, whether on the water at the lake house in Menasha, at the cottage up in northern Wisconsin, or the many camping trips and vacations. She spent countless hours playing cards, dice, board games or making puzzles. She also loved crafting and then giving those beautiful homemade treasures to her family and friends. She crafted everything from Halloween costumes to wedding dresses, quilts (as graduation gifts), counted-cross-stitch birth announcements, wedding announcements, angels and even some pottery.
She was a warm person who opened her home to many individuals when in need. She accompanied her husband Hans on several missionary dental trips to foreign countries, where she assisted him with Dental work. While there, she often spent many hours working at the local orphanages caring for all the children. She also took pride in giving back to her community by volunteering for several different organizations; her beloved Trinity Lutheran Church, Meals on Wheels, the Girl Scouts. She was also an accomplished duplicate bridge player with her own Duplicate Bridge club, where she had achieved a Life Master ranking.
Audrey married Dr. Elroy (Hans) Hansman on June 18, 1952. Their marriage was blessed with a son, four daughters, 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 62 wonderful years before Hans went to be with our heavenly father. Audrey was very devoted to her family. Her kind demeanor and quick wit will be missed by those who loved her.
She is survived by her daughters: Debra (Bob Janke) Hansman, Bozeman, MT; Paula (Thomas) Gumpert, Kaukauna; Kathy Hansman (Frank Andresen), Minnesota City, MN; Karen (Martin) Schrampfer, Neenah; daughter-in-law, Pamela Hansman, Neenah; 10 grandchildren: Carrie (Craig) Stier; Christopher (Sara) Hansman; April and Jon Gumpert; Violet Adams; Samuel and Jacob Van Den Heuvel; Bridgette (Samuel) Maltby; Mitchell (Karolyn) Schrampfer and Alexander Schrampfer; nine great grandchildren; sister, Jeanette (Allen) Miller; sister in law, Gertrude Ninmer; several nieces and nephews.
