Penfield, Ill., Feb 9.--Willoughby Condit died at his home here Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock, from paralysis.
The funeral occurred at the U. B. church Tuesday at 11 o'clock. Rev. Mr. Sherrill of Armstrong, officiated. The interment was at Willis cemetery.
Willoughby D. Condit was the son of J. B. and Amanda Condit, both dead. He was born in Jersey, O., Sept. 8, 1843, being at the time of his death 60 years, 4 months, 29 days old.
He was united in marriage to Miss Lizzie Condit of Jersey, O., Sept 15, 1896(sic). She only lived one year and ten months.
In 1880 he was married to Miss Margaret Dunlap of Savoy, who survives him. To them were born three children , one dying in infancy and Roy, aged twenty, and Kittie aged seventeen, who resided at home.
He was a member of the Ohio State militia and at the age of nineteen he and his twin brother Casper Condit, of Dewey, were called into service in the civil war. They were members of the One hundred thirty0fifth Ohio Volunteer Infantry. He came out of service broken in health until he never was real well. Besides his wife and children he leaves three brothers and sister to mourn his death. They are George W. of Gifford, Casper of Dewey, Obad of Chicago and Mrs. Hattie Beach of Champaign.
