Katherine Crane, 92, of St. Joseph passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2022, in Stevensville.
A graveside service will be at All Souls Cemetery in Cortland, Ohio, on Friday, March 25, 2022. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge in Cleveland, Ohio. Starks and Menchinger of St. Joseph, Michigan are helping her family with arrangements.
Katherine was born on Nov. 24, 1929 in New Castle, Pa., to Daniel and Catherine (Ducthak) Shabala. On May 29, 1953, she married Robert Crane in New Castle, Pa.
Katherine worked as a substitute teacher for many years in the Lakeview School District. She enjoyed her time at the Whitcomb Towers and the beautiful view she had of Lake Michigan. She also enjoyed traveling, going to the dime store and her many dinners with family and friends at Schu's in St. Joseph.
Katherine is survived by her children: Roberta (Greg) Smith, Mary (Leland) Rusk and
Robert (Michele) Crane; five grandchildren: Katie Smith, Rachel (Morris) Brown, Rebecca Crane, Olivia Rusk and Major Rusk; two great-grandchildren: Stella Brown and Rose Marie Brown.
Katherine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Crane; grandson, Gregory Smith; great-grandchildren: Scarlett and Robert Brown; daughter-in-law, Anita Crane; three sisters; and a brother.
