Dorothy (Waters) Tierney, age 89, beloved wife of the late Joseph Tierney, died on Thursday, October 11, 2007 at Lord Chamberlain Healthcare in Stratford. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. to the late William and May Waters and resided in Stratford most of her life. Mrs. Tierney was retired from Sikorsky Aircraft where she worked in the plumbing department. She is survived by three daughters and their spouses, Barbara and John Velky of Stratford, Evelyn and Ronald Johnson of Newington and Karen and John Regan of Orange; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; one loving niece, Gerry LaVoie; and one nephew. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by one daughter, Patricia Landis; two granddaughters; and one brother, William Waters. Private services were held and interment was in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield. Those desiring may make a contribution to a charity of their choice. Arrangements were entrusted to the Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main Street, Stratford.
