On September 10, 1949 Theresa married her sweetie Joe and they began their life together in Whiting eventually moving to Chesterton in 1956 where together they raised 5 daughters, and were active members of St. Patrick's Church. Together they were fortunate to see all their daughters marry and begin families of their own, their union lasted 40 years until Joe's death in 1989.
As a young lady Theresa worked at the Whiting Public Library where she learned to repair books, a talent that she would later utilize volunteering at the Westchester Public Library and St. Patrick's School library. She always made time to volunteer in the church office, pass out prayer books before Sunday mass, often retrieving books left in pews to make sure they were put in their proper place.
Over the years Theresa traveled to many destinations north, south, east, and west. Being a devoted mother, grandmother of 12 and great-grandmother of 11, Theresa always made time to play games with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and thrilled them when she pulled out her giant bubble rope. She crocheted beautiful afghans giving many to her grandkids and great grandkids. Theresa was fortunate to attend high school graduations for all 12 grandchildren and fortunate to attend some of their college graduations and weddings.
