Rosemary Marie Dunn, who was 91 years old and a resident of Huntington Beach, CA passed away peacefully at home on Monday, December 12, 2011 surrounded by family.

She was born February 11, 1920 in Grand Rapids, MI. to Rose S. and George J. Barrett. She married Robert Loran Dunn on August 14, 1948 in South Bend, IN.

Rosemary graduated high school in 1939 from Washington Clay South Bend, Indiana. She then attended Hunter College in NY, while serving in the US Navy, from 1942 until 1946, as a pharmacist assistant. Rosemary had been previously employed as an office manager, in a doctor's office, prior to entering military servce. She returned to work, after raising her family, finding employment with the Carnation Corporation from 1970 - 1983 as a data processor.

Rosemary attended St. Marianne's in Pico Rivera for almost 40 years. She was an active member of the Pico Rivera Women's Club for 30 plus years and a member of the Senior's Jolly's Club. Rosemary also gave of her time as an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of V.F.W. Post 7734. As a devout Catholic, Rosemary also became an Auxiliary member of the Legion of Mary at St. Irenaeus in Cypress, CA, and finally, after moving to Huntington Beach, CA, became a member of St. Vincent de Paul, for the past 5 years.

Rosemary's favorite charities included St. Vincent de Paul, and the American Diabetes Association. Her primary interest was her Catholic faith, her family and life long friends. She also enjoyed walking at the beach and in the park next to her home, dining out, gardening, theater, a variety of reading, corresponding and "keeping up to date" over the phone.

Rosemary is survived by her son Robert J. and wife Suzanne V. Dunn, daughter Suzanne M. Mitchell and daughter Maureen A. and husband Gary Rombal, 5 grandchildren; Lisa M. Jacox, Star M. Purry, Nicole Raatjes, Todd Arton, Melanie Rombal, 6 great grandchildren Anthony Brothers, Christopher Purry, Hailey and Shae Raatjes, Kyle and Kenadee Arton, as well as many neice's and nephew's. Two younger sisters, Barbara Bergin and Marguerite McDole. She was predeceased by her husband Robert Loran Dunn April 6, 1978.

There will be a Funeral Mass held at St. Vincent de Paul, 8345 Talbert Avenue Huntington Beach, CA, on Friday, January 6, 2012 at 8:30 am. The memorial will be held at Heritage-Dilday Memorial Chapel, 17911 Beach Blvd, Huntington Beach, CA on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 11:00 am.
