She was born on November 22, 1924 in Waveland, IN to the late Alonzo L. and Catherine (Woodworth) Gregg. Rosalee was a graduate of Bellmore High School. In June of 1946, she married Marion May and he preceded her in death on September 29, 1987.
Rosalee was an actual "Rosie the Riveter", working at ALCOA during World War II. After the war, she worked at Warren Paper and then on to banking. She retired as Branch Manager and loan officer at Lafayette National Bank after 24 years of service. Rosalee bowled in Women's Classic League, belonged to Euchre Clubs and loved to travel, especially to Hawaii, Alaska and Korea. She also loved music, sang in the church choir at Dayton Presbyterian and played mandolin in a band in Florida after retirement. She also loved Sweet Adelines. Rosalee lived in North Ft. Myers, FL for over 30 years after retirement before moving back to Lafayette, IN in 2013.
Surviving are two children; two brothers; one sister; one sister-in-law; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by five brothers - Wayne, Acel, Kyle, Dale and Jack; and three sisters - Wilma Oszust, Betty Scott and Freda White.
A gathering of family and friends was held on Friday, August 15, 2014 from 1:00-2:00 PM with the celebration of life service starting at 2:00 PM.
