Faye Keziah Benton, 86, of Mint Hill, died on Thursday, April 14, 2022, at Novant Medical Center in Matthews, NC.

Faye was born in Mecklenburg County on April 30, 1935, the youngest of ten children born to
Jesse and Carrie Wallace Keziah
Marriage: 28 Feb 1915 • Mecklenburg NC

She was a lifelong resident, growing up on Keziah Road in Matthews and graduating from East Mecklenburg High School, Class of 1953.

She married Herman Allen, who preceded her in death after almost 38 years of marriage.

In 1994, she married Jerry Benton, who she had known since elementary school. After 24 years of marriage, he also preceded her in death.

Faye was blessed with a talent for working with numbers. She worked for many years as an accountant in the textile industry, retiring from Southern Manufacturing.

When not working, she enjoyed many things but most recently, had come to spend countless hours on Facebook. This allowed her to keep up with everyone and even do some gaming. She didn't limit herself to social media, however. With a cellphone in one hand and a landline in the other, she had no problem having conversations with most anyone, except for the occasional "scammer" who wound up with her number. If you were a scammer, you got an earful before you were hung up on.

Most of all, Faye loved her family. Like a matriarch, she not only took care of her family but also of her siblings, their spouses and the numerous nieces and nephews she had. Faye was truly the glue that bound the family together.

Faye is survived by her children:
Sharon (Kevin) Anderson of Indian Trail, NC,
David (Lisa) Allen of Mint Hill, NC;

Grandchildren:
Carmen Heffner of Hermitage, TN
Brandon (Melanie) Heffner of Mint Hill, NC
Brittany (Jonny) Marlin of Oakboro, NC
Spencer Kane of Mint Hill
Carson Kane of Mint Hill;

Great grandchild:
Aiden Michael Heffner

Faye is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and her two husbands,
Faye was preceded in death by her nine siblings:
Elma Estelle Keziah Patton 1916–1986
Jesse Dearmon Keziah 1917–1986
Reid Newton Keziah 1918–1998
Frances Lucille Keziah Calvert 1920–2010
Clarence McClellan Keziah 1922–1955
Hugh Wallace Keziah 1925–1999
Cecil Ray Keziah 1928–1970
Howard Barnett Keziah 1930–2004
