LaVerne Marie Coppersmith, 82, of Manitowoc passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at her son and daughter-in-law's home, where she had been living.
LaVerne was born on April 1, 1940 in Medford to the late Edwin and Anna (Sprienger) Behrmann. She attended Kewaunee High School. On February 1, 1958, she married Robert Coppersmith. He preceded her in death on January 16, 2010. LaVerne was a dedicated wife and mother and worked as a housekeeper at the Lighthouse Inn and Fox Hills.
LaVerne was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Parish.
LaVerne is survived by her children: Margaret (Tom) Rhode, June Westerhouse, Bonnie (Dennis) Slaby, Mary Coppersmith, Donna Kubichek, Milton (Patsy) Coppersmith, and Karen Coppersmith; 25 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Robert Behrmann, and Bill Behrmann; and one sister: Beatrice Jaegar. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. LaVerne was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Robert; her daughter: Joy Dunham; parents-in-law: Isdore and Evelyn Coppersmith.
A funeral service to celebrate LaVerne's life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at the Klein and Stangel Funeral Home, 1420 22nd Street, with Rev. Dave Pleier officiating. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at the funeral home from 9:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. LaVerne will be laid to rest at St. Isadore the Farmer Cemetery in Tisch Mills.
