Millie was one year old when the family moved to Mt. Sterling, where she grew to womanhood. She attended Mt. Sterling and Wellsville Schools. At age sixteen she became the housekeeper for three of her aunts and her sisters Sarah. While living with Sarah she met and married Ute Elon Griffin from Richmond, Utah, a returned missionary. He had attended USU and after marriage they lived in Logan where he was working in his brother's Blacksmith Shop. Elon decided to go into business for himself so he moved his family to Preston, Idaho, and continued in the Blacksmithing Business. Later on they moved to Richmond, Utah, building a new home also a new shop on Main Street. Millie loved flowers and spent a great deal of time in her garden. She helped to care for the sick and while her mother was ill, seven years until the time of her death, Millie drove from Richmond to Logan daily to help care for her.
