By New Committee. ---The recently organized committee of Whitehall Post, 83, American Legion, to determine the location of the graves of war veterans reports that the remains of 235 Whitehall service men repose in cemeteries in this town. The oldest known grave is that of Lemma Bartholomew, a veteran of the Revolution who passed
away in 1790 and is buried in the Bartholomew cemetery, East Whitehall.
Robert Blair and Spencer Wood of the American Legion conducted the survey. The Legion wishes to determine the location of all war veteran's graves and anyone knowing of graves not listed below is requested to contact Commander E. H LaFrance of the Legion or any of the members of that organization. The veterans and the-wars in which they fought are as follows: __ Sciota Cemetery --- World War I—Hiram E. Kilburn, Rockwell L Ingalls, Fred A Wood, Thomas Blanchard, Benjamin Blanchard.
