Richard Erwin Haas, 78, passed away on October 23, 2021. He was the youngest child born to Adolph and Seraphine (Giebler) Haas on July 30, 1943, in Menasha.

Richard was a kind and gentle soul. He had a ready smile for anyone, a great sense of humor, and loved innocent teasing. He taught us about unconditional love and acceptance, and instantly touched the hearts of those who met him.

He loved music, especially Lawrence Welk, McDonalds, school busses, cowboys, and had a special love for Mickey Mouse. Richard liked to bowl, go to movies and plays. He loved to attend dances and parties with his friends and housemates at Greenfield House; which he called home for nearly 30 years. He also loved traveling with Lamers Bus tours to Branson, Dollywood and Sea World on vacations; and other day trips.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings Joseph Haas, Bernadette (Charles) Stadler, Bruno (Carol) Haas, Herbert Haas, Irma (Erean) Behrendt, Roland Haas, Elmer (Grace) Haas, and Paul (Nell) Haas.

He is survived by his sister Loretta (Phil) Frassetto, sisters-in-law: Nell (Paul) Haas, Carol (Bruno) Haas, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral mass will be at 11:00 am, on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 900 Geiger St., Neenah. Visitation will be on Saturday at the church from 10:00 am until the time of the Mass. Inurnment will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Menasha. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are appreciated to Greenfield House.

Richard's family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff at Greenfield House; especially, Brittney Doering and his current caretakers, Chrisanne, Mary, Michelle, Becca, and Stacy, and his past care managers, Connie Shaw and Melissa Wheeler.

A very heartfelt thank you to ThedaCare at Home and Hospice and his nurse, Lexi; your care and guidance was much appreciated.
