Carol A. Winterburn, 83, of Jamestown, NY, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2022, in the UPMC Hamot Medical Center Erie, PA.

An area resident for most of her life, she was born October 24, 1938, in Warren, PA, a daughter of the late Elmer and Edna Johnson Anderson and was a graduate of Warren Area High School.

In earlier years she had worked at the former Garden and Home Center and was currently working during the summer months at Anderson Produce in Stillwater.

She was a member of the First Lutheran Church and was formerly an active member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. She was also very active as a member of the Allen Park Women's Club, the Norden Women's Club and was a volunteer for the St. Susan's Center Soup Kitchen. For many years she served as an election inspector and was an avid sports fan of the Buffalo Bills and the Jamestown Red Raiders. She loved following her family members in sports, Carol was a very vocal advocate for her husband Bob, son Scott, and granddaughter Kati throughout participating in several sports, including Kati's years at St. Bonaventure University.

Carol will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother who loved attending many social events. She enjoyed her weekly visits to Tim Horton's, Phil and Cindy's, Ecklof's Bakery, Pace's Pizza, and taking weekend trips to Pillar and Post in Niagara on the Lake Canada.

Surviving is her husband of 59 years, Robert H. Winterburn, whom she married February 2, 1963, a son: Scott R. (Karen) Winterburn of Frewsburg, NY, a granddaughter: Kathryn (Steven) Winterburn Carcaterro of Warren, PA, as well as several nieces and nephews including the Bobo's, the Anderson's, and the Melquist's, with whom she had a very close relationship with.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Amy Sue Winterburn who passed away on July 29, 2013.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am Saturday, May 14, 2022, at the First Lutheran Church. The Rev. Daniel S. Rumfelt, interim pastor will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery.
