Clifton Kenis Cornett, 79, of North Vernon, IN, passed away at 11:30 p.m. on Monday, July 21, 2014 at his residence.

Born May 25, 1935 in Whitesburg, KY, he is the son of Clifton and Drinda Caudill Cornett. He married Eileen Aeschbocker on November 13, 1954 in Vernon, IN; she survives.

Clifton was an electrician for Cosco in Columbus, IN, for 43 years, retiring in 1995. His enjoyments include cutting firewood, fishing, going to the farm, and nature.

Survivors include his wife, Eileen of North Vernon, IN; two sons – Terry Cornett of North Vernon, IN, and Gary Cornett of Indianapolis, IN; three daughters – Cheryl (Dennise) Byard and Pam (Dave) McNulty of North Vernon, IN, and Joan (Junior) McGuire of Scottsburg, IN; three brothers – David (Sue) Cornett of Jenkins, KY, Ralph (Mary) Cornett of Westport, IN, and Richard (Janie) Cornett of Crothersville, IN; three sisters – Susie (Larry) Williams of Seymour, IN, Maxine Sexton and Martha (Jim) Coate, both of U.Z., KY; seven grandchildren – Amanda (Brent) Waldo and Sara Byard of North Vernon, IN, Diana (Derek) Bohall of Seymour, IN, Rachael (Adam) Cooper of Elizabethtown, IN, Nicole (Trent) Ferguson of Paris Crossing, IN, Erin (Matt) Oberlies and Anna McGuire, both of Scottsburg, IN; eight grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers – Phillip, Paul Clay, Stan, and Eugene Cornett; two sisters – Sophia Hogg and Chelsea Daugherty.

In keeping with the wishes of the family, no services are planned at this time. Dove – Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services were entrusted with the arrangements.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Arbor Day Foundation.
