Age 85, formerly of New Castle, DE, passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2007, at the Calvert Manor Healthcare Center in Rising Sun, MD.

Born in Oswego, NY, she was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Nellie Annal. Mrs. Brown had previously worked for 12 years for the American Can Company in New Castle. Together with her husband, Alfred, Helen enjoyed traveling throughout the country and taking many cruises. Mrs. Brown took great pride in her cooking and baking. Helen will be remembered for her kind and considerate heart. She will be missed and cherished by all who knew her. She never had a harsh word to say about anyone.

Helen was preceded in death by her beloved husband and soul mate of 60 years, Alfred H. Brown, who passed away in 2001; 2 brothers, Jack and Ebby Annal; and 2 sisters, Jane Harter and Mary Louise Berry. She is survived by her sons, Harold E. Brown and his wife Linda of New Castle, DE, William V. Brown and his wife, Mary Helen of Dallas, TX; daughter, Mary Waldridge and her husband John W. of Conowingo, MD; 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered for Helen at 12:30 pm, Friday, January 4, at Our Lady of Fatima RC Church, 801 DuPont Hwy., New Castle, where friends may visit with the family beginning at 12 noon. Burial will be in the Delaware Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE, where Helen will be laid to rest with her beloved husband.
