Funeral services for Aubrey Charles "Bus" Elmore will be held at 2 p.m. Friday May 25, 1984 at the Hudson-Rimer Park View Chapel in Kirksville. The Rev. Carl Helm of LaPlata will officiate. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery at Gibbs, Misouri.
Bearers will be James Garlock, Jim Stribling, Robert Pickett, Elmore Thomas, Joe Muir and Vernon Funk. Masonic serviceswill beheld at 7:30 o'clock tonight at the chapel conducted by the Paulville Lodge No. 319 AF & AM.
Mr. Elmore, 82, of LaPlata and formerly of Gibbs, died at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday May 22, 1984 at Boone County Hospital in Columbia where he had been a patient only a few days.
The son of Terry E. and Alie (Begole) Elmore, he was born Dcember 27, 1901 in Adair County. On December 22, 1923 he married Mona Graves who preceded him in death.
Also preceding him in death were four sisters, Faye, Opal, Ora and Vita and a brother, Warren Elmore.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Russell (Joyce) Playz of Eldon and Mrs. Robert (JoAnn) Taylor of Camdenton; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
A retired armer, Mr. Elmore had spent most of his life in Adair County in the Gibbs community. Prior to World War I he served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Masonic odge for more than 50 years.
