Joseph Dewane of Phoenix, Ariz., formerly of Valders, Wis., passed peacefully from this life at his home on the 26th of April 2016. Joe was born on the 24th of April 1944 to Edward and Valeria (Wegner) Dewane in Kiel, Wis.

He was a graduate of St. Gregory High School in St. Nazianz in June of 1962. Joseph married Maria Doyle in Tucson, Ariz., November 17, 1991 and fostered two sons, Joseph of Connecticut and Augustine of Phoenix. Joe spent the earlier part of his life as a truck driver and the last 20 plus years as a massage therapist in Phoenix.

Joe is survived by his Arizona family including his wife and sons, two sisters-in-law and five brothers-in-law. Also one sister Patti (Dan) Schmidt and brothers Eugene and David (Lynn) of Arizona. In Manitowoc County, Wisconsin, he is survived by brothers, Michael (Laura), Victor, sisters Elizabeth Bubolz and Mary (Ron) Christianson, Karen (Lee) Sorenson, Anita and Barbra (Glen) Brandl, brother Jerome and Bernard (Susan) of Rotonda, Fla. Many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many other relatives and friends also survive.

Joseph was predeceased by his parents, mother and father-in-law, three brothers, Daniel, Anthony and Andrew and brother-in-law, Elmer Bubolz; two nieces, Danielle Schmidt and Robin Brandl; and one nephew, James Hansen.

A memorial service and eulogy will be held Saturday, the 14th of May, 2016 at 11 am in St. Gregory Church in St. Nazianz followed by a luncheon in the school cafeteria.
