Alvaro Gonzalez Sr., 75, Naples, Florida, died Sunday at Naples Community Hospital. Born Feb. 14, 1926 in McAllen, Texas, he was the son of Mathis Gonzalez and Antonia (Lugo) Gonzalez. He married Marie Del Jesus Rodriquez Feb. 16, 1952. She survives.
He was an empployee of Pioneer Seed in Tipton until he retired in 1986. He was a past member of St. John's Catholic Church in Tipton.
Also surviving are four sons, Alvaro Gonzalez Jr. of Naples, Fla., Graciano Gonzalez of Naples, Fla., Maricio Gonzalez of Tipton and Jessie Gonzalez of Ft. Myers, Fla.; three daughters, Toni Davis of Naples, Fla., Diana Moya of Houston, Texas and Martina Shepard of Elwood; 18 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Young-Nichols Funeral Home and burial will follow in St. John's cemetery.
