One of seven members of Bathurst High School Phantoms senior varsity basketball team killed when their van collided with a tractor-trailer in icy driving conditions. A teacher, Beth Lord, wife of the coach/driver also died. Four other passengers survived and were transported to hospital for treatment.
Codey, age 17, was in Grade 12 at BHS and wore No. 15 on the boys' basketball team. Codey also played hockey, mini handball and was involved in les jeux d'Acadie in 2001, 2002 and 2003 and enjoyed working out at the gym. He is survived by his parents, brother, sister, many other relatives and friends.
A funeral service was held at the KC Irving Civic Centre in Bathurst, New Brunswick on January 16, 2008.
