One of seven members of Bathurst High School Phantoms senior varsity basketball team killed when their van collided with a tractor-trailer in icy driving conditions. A teacher, Beth Lord, wife of the coach/driver also died. Four other passengers survived and were transported to hospital for treatment.
Nikki, age 15, was a model Grade 10 student at BHS and wore No. 5 on the boys' basketball team. He also played soccer and was an honours student. Other interests included music, love of nature and coin collecting. Nikki is survived by his parents, two brothers, many relatives and friends.
A funeral service was held at the KC Irving Civic Centre in Bathurst, New Brunswick on January 16, 2008.
