Mr. Horatio Tennyson, whose sudden death is announced, was the youngest and last of the brothers the late Poet Laureate. He was the fourth son of the late Rev. George Clayton Tennyson, rector of Somersby, Lincolnshire, by his marriage with Elizabeth, daughter of the Rev. Stephen ffytche, vicar of Louth, Lincolnshire. Mr. Tennyson, who married a daughter of Mr. Dudley C. Cary-Elwes, but became a widower several years ago, was himself a poet of no inconsiderable power.
