Septimus Tennyson, Esq., brother of the Poet Laureate, and himself poet died at Cheltenham on the 8th inst, aged 51. He was a gentle, trusting, loveable man, and all who knew him knew his worth, and will lament his loss. The father of the above was the late Rev. Geo. Tennyson, D.D., who held the livings of Somerby, Benningworth, Enderby, and Great Grimsby (St James and St Mary). [Stamford Mercury - Friday 21 September 1866, p.3]
