Obituary

Mrs. Flora Wise Dale, widow of Mart Dale, of Cedar Vale, Kansas, died at the Hayes New hospital in that city Sunday morning, January 26, 1939. She had been confined there since January 9, when she suffered a broken hip in a fall. Mrs. Dale was in her 95th year. She was born in Indiana, December 7, 1844, the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Wise, and came to Kansas in 1859 when the Wise family moved to the Beaver Creek community, in this county.

Mrs. Dale was a sister of the late Ellen Wise Sheridan. She is survived by four sons; Arthur, George and Bert, living at Cedar Vale, and Luther, a resident of Colorado; also one brother, Isaac Wise, who makes his home with his daughter, Mrs. Robert Lee in Osawatomie, and two sisters, Mrs. Lillie June, of near Louisburg, and Mrs. Lou Peck, of Winfield, Kansas.

Burial services were held Monday afternoon at the Church of Christ in Cedar Vale and interment was by the grave of her husband, who did in 1907.
