Miss Laura Lucille Coco Passed Away Last Monday Evening
Miss Laura Lucille Coco, the only living sister of Mrs. Herman Huesmann of Moreauville, died at the Huesmann home last Monday evening, following an illness of practically five months.
Her funeral was conducted from the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Tuesday afternoon. Rev. Father Henri Jacquemin officiated. The funeral was conducted by the Escude Undertakers of Mansura and was very largely attended.
Miss Coco had attained the age of 64 years since February last and was the daughter of the late Anatole Coco and Clarisse Normand. Mr. Coco died while a young man, but Mrs. Coco lived to a ripe age and died just a few years ago. It is interesting to mention that Mrs. Coco, from her mother's side the Lemoynes, was a progenitor of the Honorable Bienville, the first Governor of Louisiana.
In the death of Miss Laura Coco, Mrs. Huesmann is the only remaining member of that family. It is interesting to mention, too, that just a few months back, Mrs. E. D. Coco of Marksville, a sister, died and out of a family of eight or nine, people reared in a atmosphere of refinement, both the sons daughters, men and women who proved to have been very useful and honorable citizens, the Almighty in his infinite humble and true doctrine applied to them, as well as to all, the penalty of death a penalty so "uncertain" but alas! So "certain".
The community of Moreauville grieved over the death of this lady and she will be missed by the lowest to the highest habitat – the young and the old and the writer through this medium wishes to express his share of regrets of a departed one who was his friend.
