Mrs. Susanna York.

Susanna Ingram, daughter of Isom and Perlina Ingram, was born in Brown county, Illinois, May 8, 1846, and died at her home in Versailles, Illinois, December 22, 1920, aged 74 years, 8 months and 14 days.

Her early life was spent on a farm near Chambersburg. She was united in marriage to James A. York, October 1st, 1868. To this union were born seven children, three of whom preceded her in death. Mr. York passed away April 3, 1908. The surviving children are: Oscar of Kewanee; Roma of Peoria; Mrs. Josie Ransom of Camp Point, and Mrs. Edith DeLong of Versailles.

She also leaves 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, four brothers, Joshua, Benjamin, Isaac and Henry Ingram, and three sisters, Mrs. G. W. Walling, Mrs. Ella Harelson and Mrs. Martha Coulter.

Mrs. York united with the Christian church in her young womanhood and has always exemplified her religious convictions by her daily Christian example. She was a kindly, sympathetic neighbor and friend. Funeral services were held in the Christian church at Versailles Friday afternoon, December 24, conducted by Rev. M. K. Griffith of Decatur, a former pastor. Interment was in the city cemetery.
