Mrs. J.F. (Augusta "Maude") Hammers of Orange has returned from Cushing, Tex., where she attended the funeral Wednesday afternoon of her brother, D.C. Baines, 78, who had died of a stroke while in his car near Austin earlier in the week.
Services wee held at the Landmark Baptist church in Cushing with the pastor, The Rev. W.N. Nunn, officiating. Burial was in the family cemetery there.
Other survivors are a daughter, Mrs. LaDell Bains Stevens of Houston, two sisters, Mrs. Mary Crump of Houston and Mrs. Mabel Stephenson of Dallas, and two brothers Guy (Charles S, Jr) Baines of Trawick, Tex., and Link H Baines of Houston.
