Louis (Louie as most knew him) passed peacefully at home on May 24, 2022, surrounded by family. Louie was born in Scottville, Michigan into the large loving family of Edward and Rose Aerts. He and his four brothers and one sister helped their mother and father work the family farm. Louie served in the army during the Korean War. He met and soon after married Joan Ann Konicki of Manistee, Michigan in 1957. They moved to Muskegon, Michigan where Louie had a life-long career with Teledyne Continental Motors. Louie enjoyed a long, happy life; he was an easy-going soul, and loved to tease family and friends with his dry sense of humor. It was easy to be relaxed and content when hanging out with Louie. He liked to listen to the Detroit Tigers while in his backyard, tending to his vegetable garden, and playing cards with family, especially cribbage. He and Joan loved polka dancing, and they spent many years together traveling around the midwest with their friends, following their favorite polka bands.
