Elaine B. Hanson, 87 of Wabasha, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2022, at Gundersen - St. Elizabeth Nursing Home, Wabasha, MN.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard: son, Bruce; daughter, Sherry Evers; her parents, father-in-law and mother-in-law; grandson-in-law, Jamie Steele; brothers: Joseph, Albert, Paul and Frank (Lois); sisters: Mary Angelbeck, Margaret (Mitch) Kangel, Agnes (Clarence) Vagt, Bernadine (Charles) Hager, Clara (John) Sexton, Catherine (Matt) Taubel; brothers-in-law Donald Hanson, William "Bill" Hanson and John Hanson; and sister-in-law & brother-in-law Mary & Harold Emmons.
Elaine was born January 19, 1935. She attended grade school at Conception, St. Felix and Plainview. She graduated from St. Felix High School in 1952.
On April 11, 1953 she married Robert Richard (Dick) Hanson at St. Felix Church. Most of their married life was spent in the Wabasha area. Richard passed away in May 2007.
For many years, Elaine was a domestic engineer. She then worked as a cook at Hiawatha Café in Wabasha, Blue Moon Cafe in Lake City and Lake City Nursing home, from which she retired. She was a member of Pepin Hill Women's Club and St. Felix Church. She was a volunteer 4-H leader and volunteered at St. Felix Church and Gunderson – St. Elizabeth Medical Center.
Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Abbott Funeral Home, Wabasha and beginning at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Thursday, June 2, 2022, at St. Felix Catholic Church, Wabasha. Interment will be at St. Felix Cemetery, Wabasha.
