Johnnie Edwards entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 24, 2022. He transitioned peacefully at his home. He was eighty-sixy years of age.

Johnnie was born on August 4, 1935 in Stewart County, Georgia.

He was the fourth child of the late Calip and Louis W. Edwards. After graduating Lumpkin High School he moved to Stamford, CT with his wife Mary Ghant-Edwards.

Johnny retired after 31 years at Pitney Bowes as

from as a Drill Press Operator from Pitney Bowes in (1990) Many knew and respected his passion for working on cars.

Siblings: Sergeant, US Army (Ret) James R. Edwards (Dorothy), of Columbus, GA; Lemar Edwards of Stamford, CT; Ossie Bell Paine of St. Louis, MO; Betty Mackey (Eugene) of Sanford, FL; Four grand children; three great grand-children; Goddaughter Veronica Watts Brooklyn, NY; Sheila Barney, Stamford, CT and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends.

Johnnie was preceded in death by his parents Calip and Louise W. Edwards, sisters Wisie Mae Edwards, Willie Eley, Louise Thomas, Dorothy Ward, Margaret Ann Jerome; brothers Lemroy Edwards and Julius Edwards.

Johnnie will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted brother, and loyal friend to all those whose lives he touched. He will truly be missed by all.

A service will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Baker funeral Services, 84 South Main Street, Norwalk, CT 06854. The family will have a viewing at 10:00 am until Service at 11:00 am.
