Robert George was the son of Richard P. George who came to Oregon in 1880, staying only 2 years, carrying mail on horseback from Linkville to Bly during that time. From Klamath county he went to Josephine county where he married Alice and had six children and developed a cattle ranch.

Robert and his brother Loren W. George, came back to Klamath County. In 1944 they sold the Josephine County ranch and bought a farm in the Henley area.
