Sacramento, California - Ada Bliss Norton, 90, passed away peacefully Monday, June 13, 2022 in Sacramento, California.
She leaves her son, Minter Holmes Norton (Terry) and partner Jaynie Gaskin; daughter Charlotte O. Norton; granddaughter Rhiannon L. Neuville-Norton, sister Laurie Krebs and husband William; sister Susan Bliss, and the Hardenbrook family, Ken, Wendy, Shari, Christine, Wendy and Vera.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lydia Anne Norton and her son-in-law Robert Laneau, both in 2018.
Ada was born August 14,1932 to Lawrence Thornton Bliss and Lydia Sweney Bliss Beatty in Columbus, Ohio. Ada married Frederick Minter Norton in Chester, PA on June 18, 1955. Ada worked for Fidelity Tax Exempt Services. She was an active member of Holladay United Church of Christ and was involved in mission projects.
Long known for positive outlook on life, her kindness, gregarious nature, and purple locks. She sprinkled sunshine in the lives of all those with whom she shared her nurturing gifts.
A virtual celebration of life will be held June 26, 2022.
