From Bartgis's Maryland Gazette & Frederick-Town Weekly Advertiser of Oct 30, 1792.
"Last Night departed this Life, Mrs. Catherine Ritchie, the amiable Consort of John Ritchie, Esq., of this Town; a Lady equally beloved both for the Accomplishments of her Mind and Person -- In this awful and affecting Instance of the Frailty of our mortal Nature, we are taught that neither Virtue, Youth nor Beauty can secure us against the Attacks of Sickness and Death, --
"So have I seen a Lilly fair Today,
"Smiling and soft, Delight of ev'ry Eye;
"To morrow's Blast its Sweetness takes away,
"For 'tis decreed that all must fade and die."
