"Dansville - Mrs. Elizabeth Steffy died in this village yesterday afternoon. She was born in Sparta eighty-six years ago and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Valentine Hamsher, wife of Ramous Steffy, and mother of Daniel and Amariah Steffy. Funeral will be held on Saturday at the home of Levi Kuhn, where she died." (Jan. 26, 1905, The Express of Dansville, NY)
