She married (first) Hiram Christopher Bryant, who died in 1857; married (second) Conrad Cratsenberg in 1865.

The year of death on the marker is 1907, but two separate published obituaries show that she died November 22, 1904.~The Quill, page 4

DURHAM.

Matilda Bryant was born in Logan County, Kentucky, March 10, 1819 and died November 22, 1904. She came to Illinois in 1837; was married to Hiram Bryant the same year. To this union eleven children were born, two of whom survive ___. Mr. Bryant died in 1857, then in 1868 [sic] she was again married to Conrad Cratsenberg. In 1871 she was again left a widow. She united with the M. E. church when __ years old. When she came to Illinois she made the entire trip on horseback and has been a resident of this county for 68 years. Grandma ___ we called her, was one of the quiet, good sweet-faced old ladies whom all loved, and her life was spent in doing good deeds even when old she has gone about nursing the sick and caring for the suffering.
