Sue Joyner Sasser, 76, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 23, 2022. She was born in Edgecombe County to the late Claude Albert & Mary Wells Joyner. Sue was an English Teacher in Wake County for many years until her retirement. She loved to go shagging and was a true example of class and elegance. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband and best friend, Johnny Winfield Sasser.
She is survived by her sons, David Sasser (Christi), Paul Sasser, both of Zebulon, sister, Barbara Hyman, grandchildren, Luke Logan, Jordan, Joanna, and Cash.
Her funeral service will be held 2 pm, Saturday, June 25, 2022, Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel, 211 W. Third St., Wendell with visitation from 12:30 – 2 pm, prior to the service. Burial will be 4 pm, Monday, June 27, 2022, Edgecombe Memorial Park, 2879 US-258, Tarboro, NC 27886.
