David Barnett is a son of Jacob Barnet an Catharine Curfman. He was a Farmer by trade - He enlisted into the Union Army 28 February 1865 - Civil War - Company K - 78th Regiment - Pennsylvania Infantry - Re-enlisted: 99th Regiment - Pennsylvania Infantry - Mustered out: Nashville, Tennessee on 11 September 1865. David married first to: Mary McClain - Methodist Church, Concord, Franklin County, Pennsylvania 13 February 1866. To this union 9 children are known: Hannah - Jacob - Jesse - Elisabeth - John - Eliz - Minnie and Isaac. David was a widower when he remarried to: Lydia Cutshall in 1891 - to this union 5 children are known: Charles - Lula - Lewis - Pearl and Golda.

David Barnett:
David Barnett died at his home in Trough Creek Valley on Tuesday morning, April 25th, at 10:15 from a stroke, aged 81 years, 8 months and 14 days. He was born August 10, 1840, and was a son of Jacob and Elizabeth Barnett. Mr. Barnett enlisted in the 78th regiment, Pennsylvania Infantry, and after severe illness returned to the battle front. He was converted at the Taylor township camp meeting. Mr. Barnett lived in Trough Creek valley all his life and was highly respected and a good citizen.
He is survived by his wife and the following children: Jesse M., and Belle, of Pittsburgh; John W., of Minnesota, Mrs. Minnie F. Reed, Isaac M., Mrs. Mac Edwards and Louis, all of Todd, Charles M., of Joller, Pa., Mrs. Pearl Hopper and Grace at home.
Funeral services were held Thursday at Todd at 10:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. B. M. Posten, of the M. E. church, with interment in the adjoining cemetery.
