Emma Samblar was born in Sidemore, England, August 12, 1833, and at the age of 18 she was married to Mr. William Wakeman. To them twenty-two children were born. She herself was one of a family of twenty-one children. Four of her children came to Kansas, two sons and two daughters, three remain.
She leaves three children, William, Fred Wakeman and Mrs. E. H. Ulmer, and was laid to rest by the side of her daughter.
