Jane was the daughter of Charles Atkinson, and Elizabeth Stephens daughter of Andrew Stephens. Her parents were both from Northumberland Co., PA and married 04 Dec 1787 Dauphine Co. PA

Jane married Patrick Sarsfield Clark 01 Jul 1820 Monroe Co., Ohio. After her marriage they lived on a large and beautiful farm two miles below Clarington on the Ohio river. They sold this farm and moved to Illinois in the spring of 1859. They lived at Ridge farm, about 18 miles north from Paris, Edgar County.
