Mrs. John Longstreet had lived there for forty years.
Maroa, Ills., Oct, 12. — The death of Mrs. John Longstreet occurred at 3 o'clock this morning. She had been sick or in poor health for a number of years, death being caused by complicated diseases.
Vashti Wykoff was born in Butler County, OH. in the year 1838. She was married to John Longstreet Oct. 1, 1856. To them eight children were born. Husband and two daughters survive. The daughters are Mrs. George Cooper and Mrs. Ben Parker. Mr. and Mrs. Longstreet have lived in and near Maroa for the past forty years. The dead woman had been an earnest worker in the Methodist church. She was also a member of the Eastern Star. Funeral arrangements will be made later.
